A Clinical Approach to Tissue Adaptation
Scars are showing up in clinic every day, yet many therapists have never been taught how to confidently assess and treat them. This practical scar tissue therapy course gives Diploma-qualified remedial massage therapists the clinical reasoning, assessment skills, and hands-on techniques to work safely with post-surgical scars and soft tissue changes.

Join us for a practical, clinically focused Scar Tissue Therapy Course designed for Diploma-qualified remedial massage therapists wanting to develop confidence in scar assessment, scar treatment techniques, and post-surgical scar management.
This hands-on scar tissue training course goes beyond basic techniques, exploring how scars can influence fascia, soft tissue mobility, lymphatic flow, nervous system responses, and movement patterns. You’ll learn how to assess different types of scars and apply safe, effective scar therapy techniques within your clinical practice.
Whether you are new to scar tissue work or looking to refine your existing approach, this course will help you build stronger clinical reasoning, expand your treatment skills, and feel more confident supporting clients with post-surgical scars, injury-related scars, and soft tissue restrictions.
Available as a 2-day face-to-face scar tissue therapy workshop in Adelaide, South Australia, or as a blended learning option for interstate participants combining online education with a practical hands-on training day.
What You’ll Learn
Throughout the weekend you’ll learn:
• How to assess scar tissue and recognise different tissue presentations
• Safe and effective hands-on scar treatment techniques
• How to adapt treatment based on tissue response
• Clinical reasoning for treatment planning and progression
• When direct scar treatment is appropriate—and when it isn’t
• How adjuncts such as cupping, myofascial taping, and Low Level Laser Therapy may support outcomes
• Strategies for working with post-surgical and more complex presentations
Most importantly, you’ll leave with greater confidence in your clinical decision-making.
This is not a course where you’ll simply copy techniques.
You’ll learn how to think through scar presentations, make informed treatment decisions, and adapt your approach to the individual client sitting in front of you.
